New Traffic Pattern Change for Grant Avenue (Nuevo cambio en el diseño del tránsito en la avenida Grant - español en página 2)

Byrd Drive Closing
Byrd Drive will be closed at the intersection with Grant Avenue on January 10, 2024. The closure will be in place for approximately three months while the contractor removes the existing signal at Grant Avenue and Byrd Drive/Bartow Street, installs storm sewer, and constructs the new roundabout for the Grant Avenue Streetscape project. There will be night work to remove the existing traffic signal on or about January 10 & 11, 2024. 

• Residents will not be able to exit or enter the community through Byrd Drive.
• All Byrd Drive residences and parking will be accessible from Bragg Lane.
• Parking impacts will be minimal with this closure.
• Detour signs will direct residents via Bragg Lane onto Taney Road (North).
• Students walking to Osbourn High School will have continuous access. Any short-term sidewalk closures will be posted with street signs.

Dean Drive Construction
Please note that it will be easier to access Dean Drive through Route 28/Nokesville Road, rather than through Wellington Road while construction is ongoing.

Other Ongoing Lane Closures

• To 7/1 – Grant Avenue Streetscape Project
• Through 5/3 - Intermittent lane closures on Mathis Ave. between Sudley Road and Breeden Ave.
• Through 5/10 - Shannon Lane Closure between Hastings Drive and Cedar Ridge Dr.
• Through 4/26 - Godwin Dr. lane closure between Hastings Dr. and Winged  Elm Circle
• 4/25 to 4/26 - Signal Pole replacement at Church St. and at Center St. Full lane closure on Main St. between Center St. and Church St. Temporary lane closures along Center and Church Streets. Work between 9 AM and 3 PM
• 4/22 to 5/1 - Columbia Gas will be paving patches from recent gas work with lane closures and flagging on Sudley and Stonewall Roads, and on a small portion of Grant Avenue.
• 4/29 to 5/1  - Installation of traffic signal pole at Center and Grant Streets with intermittent lane closures.
• Ongoing - Dean Drive from Wellington Road to Waggin’ Tails Junction: Intermittent Closures Due to Construction
• Ongoing at the Airport - A new traffic pattern will detour around Observation Road through a temporary access road. This will affect traffic running east through Piper Lane and south through Observation Road towards the Tower area.
• TBD- Sudley Road: Engineering-Planned work at Hospital
• TBD-Battle Street from Church Street to Center Street: Engineering-Sidewalk replacement

El cierre de la calle Byrd
La calle Byrd estará cerrada en la intersección con la avenida Grant a partir del 10 de enero de 2024 durante aproximadamente tres (3) meses mientras que el contratista quite el semáforo existente en la intersección de la avenida Grant y las calles Byrd y Bartow, instale el alcantarillado pluvial y construya la nueva rotonda de tránsito para el proyecto de paisaje callejero de la avenida Grant. Habrá obras durante la noche para quitar el semáforo existente el 10 y el 11 de enero de 2024, o alrededor de esas fechas.

• Los y las residentes no podrán salir de la comunidad ni entrar en ella usando la calle Byrd.
• Se podrá acceder a todas las viviendas y todos los espacios de estacionamiento de la calle Byrd usando la calle Bragg.
• Los efectos en el estacionamiento debido a este cierre serán mínimos.
• Las señales de desvío dirigirán que los residentes pasan desde la calle Bragg hacia la calle Taney (hacia el norte).
• Los estudiantes que caminan a la Escuela Secundaria Osbourn [Osbourn High School] tendrán acceso continuo. Cualquier cierre de la acera a corto plazo se indicarán con señales de calle.

La construcción en la calle Dean
Tenga en cuenta que será más fácil acceder a la calle Dean usando la Ruta 28/la calle Nokesville en vez de la calle Wellington mientras que realicen las obras de construcción. La ruta roja en el mapa tendrá cierres de carril. La ruta azul es la ruta de desvío recomendada.
