A Mechanical Permit is required for:

1. Installations or alterations involving the mechanical systems or fuel supply systems

2. First time installation of fixtures and appliances permanently connected to mechanical – heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: 

• Fans, attic or exhaust 
• Heat pumps and Centralized air-conditioning systems 
• Gas clothes dryers 
• Solar energy equipment 
• Gas or oil furnaces 
• Gas or wood stoves or heaters 
• Gas ovens 
• Prefabricated chimneys 
• Prefabricated fireplaces 
• Gas or oil water heaters
